Jefferson to pay $2.6 million to settle research-fraud case

Pa. expects $266 million soon from tobacco deal

Article Abstract:

The state of Pennsylvania will receive its $266 million share of a settlement with the tobacco industry following the refusal of the state Supreme Court to hear a challenge to the tobacco agreement. The state, which will place the money into its general fund, will receive $11.3 billion over 25 years.

Penn planning new housing at 34th, Chestnut

Article Abstract:

The University of Pennsylvania plans to build a 19 story tower and five story building for student and faculty housing. Space will be allocated for a restaurant, classrooms and retail stores. The project will cost $111 million. It is part of Penn's plan to revitalize the streets around the campus.
