Article Abstract:
Camden, Penn.-based Campbell Soup Co. has reported that its profit forecasts for fourth quarter operating earnings will fail to meet analysts' expectations. The soup giant, which will take a fourth quarter restructuring charge of between $35 million and $45 million, also has announced that it will consolidate its Canadian and U.S. operations in the soup and sauce sector. The decision to announce lowered earnings resulted from a decline in demand from retailers. Campbell has reported that soup shipments had declined by ten percent in the quarter.
