Greensboro-based Eastwind Airlines started up in mid-1995 but is still suffering growing pains. It still has only 5 planes, and it has had a problem with overbooking and late flights. It is still getting used to its new reservations software. Tuesday, 5/4/99, may have been its first profitable flight, from the Trenton-Mercer County Airport. That profit may have been as little as $3.00, but at least it's a profit. Now perhaps the new leather seats can be scheduled.
