Article Abstract:

The California primary of Mar 2000 will attract more attention than usual, since the date has been brought forward and the way the primary works has been altered. Democrat, Al Gore, and Republican, George W Bush, look set to perform well in California, though the campaign could erode Gore's funds, and Bush may be seen as too conservative on some issues such as environmentalism. Voters can choose whatever the party they have registered for and the outcome cannot be predicted.

Japan to the rescue

Article Abstract:

Japanese investments helped drive the economic boom in Southeast Asia and now that some countries are experiencing monetary problems, Japan is doing everything possible to reinvigorate the region. Japan contributed $4 billion towards the bail-out of Thailand.

Article Abstract:

California governor Gray Davis seems to have overcome the 2001 power crisis and could still be a contender for the 2004 presidential race. Some people criticize his handling of the energy crisis, but Davis is liked by many.
