The management consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG) forecasts revenue growth of approximately 30% for its Asian-Pacific region and 25% for it's local business. BCG feels U.S. companies seeking recession strategy advice and businesses in Asia that may look for help with countercyclical strategies are two big possible business sources.

Chinese logistics jams hurt prospects for foreign firms

Article Abstract:

The study "Logistics in China" by McKinsey and Co. reports that infrastructural problems and strict licensing laws may undermine the benefits of China's upcoming membership in the World Trade Organization. Freight destined for domestic consumption in China is subject to damage and theft, expensive tolls, and late arrival.

Watching for oil-price rise: winners and losers will emerge in Asia too

Article Abstract:

Goldman Sachs and Co predicts that the confrontation between Iraq and the US will lead to higher oil prices in the international marketplace which will surely affect countries in Asia as well. Improvement in the South Korean economy will be undercut as the dollar rise in the price of oil barrels will knock 0.3 percentage point off its GDP growth. On the other hand, Malaysia's economic recovery efforts will receive a strong boost. Other Asian countries at the losing end would be India and the Philippines.
