Vivendi, Unit buy more of Pathe: combined stake increases to 24.6%

Vivendi SA, together with its Canal Plus SA pay-television unit, acquired almost 20% of Pathe SA. This increased Vivendi's and Canal Plus' share of Pathe to 24.6%. Vivendi acquired the nearly 20% share from "corporate raider" Vincent Bollore. Vivendi and Canal Plus also reached an agreement with the controlling family of Pathe. Under the deal, both sides will have the right of first refusal if one of them chooses to sell their stock in Pathe.
