Under your feet

Article Abstract:

The 'Miami River Circle' is though to have been constructed by the tequesta Indians, who settled the Miami river mouth in 300BC approx. The post-holes and stone carvings form a circle that may have been a meeting place or a temple. There have been attempts to save the circle from real estate development, and the mayor of Florida favors the development. The city's officials set out a compromise whereby the circle would be relocated. Miami-Dade County is seeking to seize the site using eminent domain as the legal argument.
