Many in Pakistan want to see Golam Azam hang for his support of the Pakistani crackdown on the Bangladeshi independence movement in 1971. Prosecution has taken 20 years because of Azam's self-exile and then because the protection of government officials after he returned.

A new beginning: Pakistan

Article Abstract:

Pakistan avoided political chaos when Pres Ghulam Ishaq Khan and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigned, ending their power struggle. A caretaker government has been established for the time being, and elections will be held Oct 6, 1993.
