Article Abstract:

Big name credit rating firms such as Standard & Poor's (S&P) and Moody's may have become too powerful. Some have accused them of rating companies that pay them for the service higher than those who do not pay. Greater competition in the credit rating business would help eliminate the problem.

Banharn was forced to resign by partners of his coalition government that betrayed him after promising to vote for him. The resignation is a response to the accusations of corruption and devastating the economy levelled against the fractious coalition government.
