The eternal triangle

Article Abstract:

The actions of independent counsel Kenneth Starr have caused considerable difficulties for President Bill Clinton and his advisors. Starr has gained the right to question Bruce Lindsey, Clinton's lawyer, and has also reached an agreement with Monica Lewinsky granting her immunity from prosecution if she tells the truth about her relationship with Clinton. However, there are very mixed views about whether Starr's four-year inquiry, which has cost more than $40 million, has been justified. Starr is not a free agent, and this situation has been exploited by Clinton's advisors to delay the inquiry.

Bad week for Bill Clinton

Article Abstract:

President Bill Clinton is coming under growing pressure as independent prosecutor Ken Starr seems to be assembling evidence against him. Starr has been particularly successful in securing the cooperation of Monica Lewinsky, who Starr hopes will provide information about notes passed to Linda Tripp, her confidante, possibly to encourage her to deny knowledge of the affair with Clinton too. Lewinsky's testimony alone will not be sufficient to force Clinton to resign, however, and Starr has therefore been summoning other witnesses to support her claims.
