Portugal wraps up Soporcel paper offer

Article Abstract:

The Portuguese government and private paper concern Arjo Wiggins Appleton have completed an offering of 13.78% of pulp and paper company Soporcel. The sale, which comprised 8.8 million shares raised 14.5 billion Escudos. About 75% of the offered shares were owned by the government, and the sale has reduced both sellers' stake in Soporcel to 40%. Information on other privatization activities in Portugal is included.
