The choice in Somalia

UN forces acted properly when they took direct military action to curtail the power of Somali warlords, even though the UN military campaign produced undesired consequences. The peacekeeping mission is not motivated by neo-colonialism, but humanitarianism.

Article Abstract:

The UN needs to be more decisive in Bosnia and Somalia. Member support for real international police actions will not materialize without a tougher policy against Somali warlords and Serbian troops.
