Although most economists see little hope the US will have a strong economic recovery this year, another school of thought believes it will. Rising incomes and low debt should produce more consumer spending, and exports and productivity continue to grow.

Measuring the new economy

Article Abstract:

The belief in the US' 'new economy' has been undermined by figures showing that US productivity growth has been lower than originally thought. Real long-term productivity growth is now put at about 2% a year.
