The bombing of Arabia

Article Abstract:

Saudi Arabia is anxious to blame foreigners for the bombing of the US air base, but is was most likely perpetrated by Sunnis in revenge for the beheading of four men responsible for a Nov 1995 bombing. Those condemned men issued seemingly coerced confessions blaming foreign influences.

Closing in on King Fahd: Saudi Arabia

Article Abstract:

A coalition of academics, religious scholars, and other conservatives has petitioned Saudi King Fahd to move toward an Islamic theocracy. The coalition advocates further restrictions on women's rights, a military buildup, and more authority for the ulema.

King's progress: Saudi Arabia

Article Abstract:

The changes to the Saudi Arabian constitution decreed by King Fahd on Mar 1, 1992 represent a step away from absolute monarchy towards a more consultative system of government. A body of 61 men will be appointed to oversee government policy.
