Article Abstract:
An investigation of the French soft drink market reveals only a slight increase in sales from 1993 to 1997. The best-performing sector was comprised of cola products, which achieved 42.1% of volume sales and 32.7% of value sales. The fastest-growing segment was comprised of the new sports and other drinks, which expanded by 728.6% during the review period while the sector with the poorest growth performance was the still drinks segment, which decreased by 16.7%. The major manufacturers were Coca-Cola, Schweppes and Pernod Ricard while the leading sellers were the supermarkets.
