Telus connects to Omnicom shops

Article Abstract:

Burnaby, BC-based Telus has given a strategic alliance of companies its branding and reputation management account. The lead agency on the estimated $10-million Telus Advanced Communications account is Phillips Communications of Vancouver. Another member of the Omnicom Group, GPC Canada, will provide media and public relations and other communications support. Incumbent agency Ogilvy and Mather lost the account after Telus's selection team reviewed five proposals from other companies.

Cin. Bell dials up Gee Jeffery

Article Abstract:

Gee Jeffery and Partners has been awarded a $10-million account by Cincinnati Bell Inc. The Toronto, Canada-based agency won the account from other four Cincinnati, OH-based agencies to handle the telecommunications firm's multimedia marketing activities. Gee Jeffery will open its first US branch in Cincinnati to work on the account. Previously, the agency provided strategic brand and creative planning for Cincinnati Bell's i- wireless brand.

Tourism BC

Article Abstract:

Tourism BC has unveiled its fourth 'BC Escapes' TV, print, outdoor, Internet and direct-mail campaign. The C$6.1 million advertising campaign was created by Cossette Communication-Marketing, and will target the long- haul markets of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto, and the short-haul markets of Vancouver, Victoria, Calgary, Seattle and Portland. Tourism BC said the new campaign will result in a 5% increase in tourist visits in 2001.
