Article Abstract:

Telenordia, the Swedish subsidiary of British Telecom, Tele Danmark and Telenor, is successful and will further expand. At a press conference, held by British Telecom in London, the plans were presented. The goal is to reach a 8% share of the Swedish telecoms market. In 2001, turnover is expected to reach SEK 2.6bn (USD 0.33bn), and break-even is likely to be reached by the year 2000. This year, the number of subscribers, primarily of Internet services, is expected to increase by 100,000 to 250,000.

DENMARK: DDB ACQUIRES CREDIT CARD RIGHTS

Article Abstract:

The rights to American Express' credit cards in Denmark have been acquired by the major bank Den Danske Bank (DDB). This means DDB will break monopoly on the Danish credit card market. So far, PBS, the joint venture between Danish banks, has been the sole operator. Later on, Den Danske Bank and several other Danish banks are planning to take over the cashing of other credit cards as well.
