Sympatico launches $3M ad push

Sympatico-Lycos has introduced its first major C$3-million advertising campaign promoting its new Canadian search engine called sympatico.ca. The effort comprises six-week French campaign unveiled in Feb 19, 2001 in Quebec, and six-week English national campaign rolled out on Feb 26. The Quebec campaign includes a 30-sec television commercial, while the national campaign includes radio spots and print advertisements in the National Post, the Globe and Mail as well as major dailies in Ontario.

Global ads tout Alcan's new diversity

Alcan Aluminum has launched a worldwide print campaign to celebrate its merger with algroup of Switzerland and reveal its new position as both an aluminum and packaging company. The five-week campaign, which uses the tag line 'Imagination Materialized,' began on Oct 23, 2000 and features five different full-page ads appearing weekly in 51 publications in 15 countries and in eight languages.
