Article Abstract:
The specific characteristics of the food industry, its product development and the results of a Dutch benchmark study into supplier involvement in product development are discussed. The comparison of Dutch and Scandinavian food companies illustrate that the analytical framework can explain the different results in terms of the underlying processes and pre-conditions, thereby validating its application to the food industry.
