Article Abstract:
The 50.6 million pounds sterling Diawa Europe Property building in the City of London was designed by architect firm Richard Rogers Partnership (RRP) and completed in August 1999. Planning regulations meant the building was designed to show a limited 8 storeys at street level, with a further two buildings behind, featuring up to 16 floors. The entrance hall is constructed of glass and steel, making it feel light and airy despite being in the centre of the Square Mile.

A description is presented of the innovative design and construction of a footbridge for use by the pupils of Plashett School for Girls' by architectural practice Birds Portchmouth Russum. The bridge is covered in white teflon.

Article Abstract:
The objective of work on Paddington Station, London, England, was to make the environment similar to an airport building. Some work was carried out on the space around the platforms and existing buildings. The new Lawn building contains check-in desks, several new shops and eating outlets. It is covered by a steel and glass roof. Architects Nicolas Grimshaw and Partners undertook the design work whilst the main contractor is Taylor Woodrow Management. Phase one of the building is due to be completed on Oct. 18, 1999.
