Recent statements from Conservative MP Michael Howard, who is now shadow chancellor, seem to suggest that he has abandoned Thatcherism. Howard says he has tax-cutting instincts, but he has failed to attack the UK government for its plans to increase taxes in order to fund higher spending on health.
