Skoda Praha to new markets

Skoda Praha (SP) (Prague, Czech Republic), supplier and engineering firm, expects its results to increase from 2001, due to contracts in Eastern Europe. SP's great reference is its participation in the construction of the nuclear power stations Temelin, the Czech Republic, and Mochovce, Slovakia, where eastern power projects were successfully connected with the advantageous control systems of Wetinghouse (US) and Siemens (Germany). That is why SP is able to participate in similar projects in Eastern Europe. Besides power engineering, SP also wants to focus on the petrochemical sector, the construction of sewage treatment plants and supplies for the paper industry. SP expects a gross profit of CEK 40 mil for 2000. Its 2000 proceeds should be CEK 13 bil, CEK 1.1 bil less compared to 1999.

Skoda Praha saw a profit in 1998

Skoda Praha (SP) (Prague, Czech Republic), engineering firm, should hand over the second block of Mochovce Nuclear Power Station (MNPS), Slovakia, to the investor on 31 December 1999. The block's hydro-testing is being realised currently. The equipment will be prepared for nuclear fuel charging after the testing. On foreign markets, SP realised jobs worth 10.9 bil Kc in 1998, mainly at MNPS. The company's domestic supplies, mainly for the Temelin Nuclear Power Station, were worth 7.9 bil Kc in 1998. The firm saw a pre-tax profit of 55.4 mil Kc and an after-tax profit of 25 mil Kc in 1998.

Skoda Praha wants to look for strategical partner in 2000

Skoda Praha (SP) (Prague, Czech Republic), holding engineering company, wants to focus on search for a strategical partner in 2000. The company will not pay dividends for 1999. In 1999 it generated a gross profit of 59.1 mil Kc and a net profit of 1.3 mil Kc. The consolidated loss of the group around SP amounted to 48 mil Kc in 1999. SP is mainly a supplier of equipment for the Temelin nuclear power station in the Czech Republic and the Mochovce nuclear power station in Slovakia.
