Article Abstract:
L. Goldfarb's unified strategy of pattern recognition via fuzzy classification or clustering was extended to problems with pseudometric data or data given as interdistances. Specifically, a fuzzy procedure for determining the cluster structure of a data set, the pseudo-Euclidean vector space algorithm, was developed along with its generalized form. Its application to decision-making problems such as investment strategies and social surveys was likewise reviewed.
