HERO HONDA PROFITS SOAR 46% IN H1

Hero Honda Limited (HHL), a two wheeler and motor cycle producer, has reported a 46 percent rise in its net profit during April- September 1998. During this period, it posted a 32 percent rise in sales and a market share of 38 percent. HHL plans to market 530,000 vehicles and post sales of Rs1,500 crore by the end of 1998. It plans to spend Rs100 crore on its production plant to raise its capacity to 500,000 units during 1998-99. It also plans to launch a 150 cc motor cycle by early 1999. (ag)

KINETIC HONDA MOTORS NET UP, SALES DOWN

Article Abstract:

Kinetic Honda Motors Ltd (KHML) has reported a rise in its net profit to Rs2.3 crore during the second quarter of 1998-99 (Rs1.17 crore during the second quarter of 1997-98). During the period, it posted a fall in the sales to Rs92.49 crore (Rs107.02 crore). KHML also posted an other income of Rs0.77 crore (Rs1.65 crore) and a gross profit after interest but before depreciation and taxation of Rs3.74 crore (Rs2.42 crore). (ag)
