Article Abstract:
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach is used to evaluate the three reorganization proposals for reducing Taiwan's forest districts from thirteen to eight as presented by the Taiwan Forestry Bureau. The main aim of the reorganization is to promote a more equitable distribution of districts for the local people and an increased efficiency. With the DEA approach, a fourth proposal is advanced that will distribute the districts more efficiently provided there are no administrative obstacles.
