Racism is still plainly evident in the US today. It can be seen in racial violence on campus, Ku Klux Klan marches, and misguided efforts to help the poor African American who cannot help himself. This portrayal of African Americans as victims of society enforces racist stereotypes.

Right-wing nationalist attacks on refugees and foreign workers are out of control in Germany. The government has taken some steps, but it must take more. The European union needs a strong, politically secure Germany.

There are a number of ways of tackling the problem of neo-Nazis in Germany, and employment and education could help tackle resentments leading to racism, while banning political parties infringes freedom.
