Operational research models and the management of fisheries and aquaculture: a review

Article Abstract:

The role played by the operational research (OR) discipline in the understanding and management of renewable resources and aquaculture is reviewed. The purpose of the analysis is to assess the past performance of the OP models in the field and to highlight current problems and future directions of research.

Product introduction decisions in a duopoly

Article Abstract:

A dynamic environment with two firms that fight for share of industry sales and profit in a market with a constant size is discussed. It is found that each firm's frequency of product introductions in equilibrium decreases as its fixed product introduction cost increases.

Returns to scale in different DEA models

Article Abstract:

The returns to scale (RTS) in data envelopment analysis (DEA) for each type of available models are discussed. The relations between the results for the different models are established, and the results reveal new areas for use and research.
