On alternative optimal solutions in the estimation of returns to scale in DEA

Article Abstract:

An extension of a study conducted by Zhu and Shen was undertaken which involves the creation of alternative optimal solutions for returns to scale (RTS) estimation. The alternative solutions illustrates that alternative optima can be attained even under the presence of a slightly efficient decision making unit. The importance of multiple optimal solutions in the creation of RTS estimation theory was also established.
