OMV (Austria), petrol station operator, will buy the network of petrol stations of British Petroleum (BP) (UK) in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The transfer of the petrol stations will be realised on 01 December 1998. About 14 petrol stations of the network are in the Czech Republic. OMV's share on the Czech fuel market will increase from the current 7% to 9% after taking over BP's petrol stations. Reasons for the transfer are BP's strategical goals. The firm has only a 2% share on the Czech market.

FCC Folprecht (FCCF) (Brno, Czech Republic), software and IT firm, was acquired by the multinational firm Logica on 01 January 1999. Logica invested 315 mil Kc in the acquisition. FCCF will operate under the name Logica on the Czech market. The firm, which has more than 300 employees, should become one of the largest companies in the field of information and technological services in the Czech Republic.

Prazske vodovody a kanalizace (PVK) (Prague, Czech Republic), water firm, should be sold to a strategic partner by the end of Jan 2001. Investors offer CEK 2.6-6.1 bil for a 66% stake in PVK. The lowest sum was offered by Lyonnaise des Eaux (France) and the highest sum by a consortium of Vivendi (France) and Anglian Water (UK).
