Britain's Conservative Party has been waging a war on local councils, stopping just short of abolishing them altogether, but the councils are getting better candidates, and often governing more efficiently. Labour supports council in theory but is wary of future Tory-dominated districts.

Article Abstract:

Britain is in the process of redistricting its local jurisdictions, with mixed results. So far counties are getting more clout as opposed to election districts. Tory attempts to gerrymander some boundaries have not been as successful.
