Rolls-Royce Turbomeca has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a gas turbine industry association in the Netherlands in Feb 2000. The MoU allows Dutch companies to participate in the RTM322 engine program. The RTM322 will power the 20 naval variants of the NH90 helicopter that the Dutch government plans to acquire. Among the Dutch firms that have already been tapped for the project are Eldim, Jamo Precision Industries, Standard Aero and Stork RMO.

Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd has been chosen to build the fuselage of the BA609 tiltrotor aircraft. The company will replace Nashville, TN-based Aerostructures Inc, the original subcontractor picked by Bell/Augusta to produce the fuselages on a commercial scale. Under the terms of the contract, Japan-based Fuji will provide the financial investments necessary to produce the four prototypes of the BA609 fuselage.

Article Abstract:
The Federal Aviation Administration has issued to Rolls-Royce Inc a certification for a series of improvements to the 250-C20R turboshaft engine. The upgrade program, dubbed as R-Plus, consists of two parts that are designed to increase power and lower specific fuel consumption of the engine. The whole improvement package will be incorporated in new production engines by the end of Mar 2000.
