NAGARJUNA MAY ACQUIRE MAHADESHWARA SUGAR

Article Abstract:

The Nagarjuna group of Hyderabad has expressed interest in acquiring Sri Mahadeshwara Sugar Mills (SMS) of Chamarajnagar, Kollegal. It is likely to complete the proposed acquisition within a month or two. SMS belongs to the Khodays group of Bangalore and has a crushing capacity of 2,500 tonnes per day (tpd). The reserved cane area of SMS in Kollegal and Yelandur taluks holds a huge potential for the Nagarjuna group, as these taluks produce 2.5 lakh tonnes of sugarcane each year. After the acquisition, SMS will function as a unit under Gayatri Sugar Complex Limited, a Nagarjuna group company. The Nargarjuna group plans to further raise the capacity of SMS to 5,000 tpd. MOTUL MAFATLAL, SHANUDEEP TO PART WAYS

Article Abstract:

Shanudeep Pvt Ltd (SPL) and Motul SA of France, the promoters of Motul Mafatlal Lubricants (MML), have decided to end their joint venture agreement. Motul SA, the foreign collaborator, will be selling its stake in MML to SPL, the Indian promoter. The technology license pact for the Motul trademark will be valid till September 30, 1999. (ag)
