My night at the opera

Article Abstract:

British prime minister, Tony Blair, has visited Scotland and Russia. His visit to Scotland was more difficult since there is a new government and the ruling Labor party is not likely to perform well in elections in Ayr. Blair visited the opera with Russian acting president, Vladimir Putin. He delivered a message on Russia's behavior in Chechnya, where Blair believes that there may have been some abuse of human rights as a result of Russia's destroying Grozny and forcing that city's inhabitants to flee. This may not appear to be a strong enough responce, but then Blair is a skilled politician.

Full speed ahead: Northern Ireland

Article Abstract:

British Prime Minister Tony Blair's commitment for a May 1998 referendum by the people of Northern Ireland on their fate has reduced the impact of accusations and walkouts by Unionists and separatists. Leaders of both sides know that they must reach an agreement if they want to affect Northern Ireland's future.

The vision thing

Article Abstract:

Tony Blair has four ideologies with which he wants to change Britain. They are a more flexible economy, modernization of the welfare state, reforming the constitution, and giving Britain more identity. Some of these ideas are good, and some may not work.
