More trawlers using liquid ice for chilling

Article Abstract:

The usage of liquid ice for chilling the catch and pre-process chilling in fishing industry is now a common procedure on most of the trawlers. Iceland based Kaelitaekni and Canada based Cooltech manufacture the necessary equipment and technology for liquid ice production. A brief description of the system and equipments is presented.

Supertrawler freezes CO2!

A new central freezing plant using CO2 is installed in pelagic super trawler Cornelis Vrolijk Fzn, which provides a quick freezing capacity that cools the ships hold, which has a capacity of 6900 cu meters. This helps in achieving quality standards and maximizes throughput in terms of freezing.
