Markovian start-up demonstration tests with rejection of units upon observing d failures

Article Abstract:

Several results are derived for demonstration tests of the start-up reliability of equipment by conditioning on the time of the first failure. The probability of the demonstration test ending is computed with acceptance of the unit and the expectation and variance of the number of start-ups until termination of the test.

On the law of the iterated logarithm in open queueing networks

Article Abstract:

An open queueing network model is utilized as a mathematical model for computer networks in heavy traffic. Laws of the iterated logarithm are proved for homogeneous computer networks and open queueing networks with respect to customer virtual waiting time.
