Lithuania garners E207 million to shut an aging nuclear plant

EU is firm on closure of Lithuanian reactor

Article Abstract:

The European Union (EU) is reiterating its demand that Lithuania shutdown one of its two Chernobyl-type nuclear reactors. The EU wants the shutdown to take place by 2009. However, Lithuania is asking that the deadline be pushed back.
