The marketing management of several companies was honoured in the Asian Management Awards. These included Procter & Gamble Philippines Inc, which considers customer satisfaction as the main factor for growth in the company. The Hong Kong Tourist Association has improved visitor facilities, and gained overseas publicity of tourist attractions to developed Hong Kong as a travel destination. Also featured at Sahaviriya OA PCL of Thailand, a major distributor of personal computers, P.T. Mustika Ratu of Indonesia and Excel Machine Tools Ptd Ltd of Singapore.

Ayala Corp of the Philippines has diversified interests including real estate, hotels and telecommunications, and devoted over 45% of its 1994 total human resources budget to personnel development. Land & Houses PCL of Thailand, a property developer, believes that both the organisation and the individual will benefit from further education and training along with personal development plans. Also given people development and management awards were P.T. Ometraco Corp of Indonesia, and Giordano Holdings Ltd of Hong Kong.
