Italy's crystal poll

A poll taken on the eve of Italy's Apr 1993 referendum by Milan's 'Il Giornale' suggests that the Democratic Party of the Left (PDS), the former communists, are gaining support at the expense of the ruling Christian Democrats. The PDS was favored by 20% of the poll's respondents.
