Article Abstract:

Greater community efforts on the parts of individual Muslims and Germans may be the answer to creating ethnic integration, lessening violence in Europe. In Marxloh, Germany a steel town with a Muslim ghetto, next door neighbours Medet Sevimili and Sylvia Brennemann began a civic improvement association that transformed the community. German social policy has supported such projects and been critical of extremist groups.

VW to double investment in China

Article Abstract:

Volkswagen AG (VW) is planning to double its investments in China over the next five-year period. VW is making this move despite the slowing economy and greater competition in China. In the past 15 years, the car maker has invested over three billion marks (1.5 billion euros) for joint ventures in Shanghai and Changchun. These joint venture manufactured as much as 310,000 cars in 1998.
