Cline analyzes the economic advantage of slowing down global warming. Although some warming is unavoidable, decreasing the greenhouse effect would benefit industries such as agriculture. One criticism of CLine's idea is that although warming may cause an industry such a skiing to decline, others such as swimwear or sun tan lotions would grow.

Taxing carbon

Article Abstract:

Target dates for limiting carbon dioxide production are not the best approach to controlling global warming. Targets unevenly affect different countries in terms of cost. Countries should take measures that do not inhibit economic growth. Increased energy taxation would be effective in the US.

Article Abstract:

An international policy towards global warming can be aimed at either slowing down climate change or adapting to the effects of global warming. The latter approach would be less beneficial, as developing countries may refuse to follow requirements for reduced production of carbon dioxide.
