The U.S. State Department is planning to report on the status of Hong Kong's autonomy. Hong Kong's Chief Executive Tung Chee Hwa has been facing criticism for his policies that seem to mirror those of China, and this report might formalize such sentiment. Hong Kong could lose trade privelages under the United States-Hong Kong Policy Act of 1992.
