Guardair secures accreditation

Guardair, a specialist aviation security and support services company operating in Thailand, has received ISO9002 accreditation. The company, which was established in 1991, operates at Don Muang International, Hat Yai, Phuket and Chian Mai Airports and employs over 900 people. The company primarily caters to the security requirements of airports of airlines, such as passenger and baggage screening systems, document checks, aircraft and air-side security and the operation of airport check points.

The security system at Frankfurt Fernbahnhof, the mainline station at Germany's Frankfurt Airport that serves high-speed trains, has been designed and implemented by Plettac electronic security of Germany. The company has set up a total of 12 information and emergency points wherein passengers can contact central control rool staff for assistance or advice. Video cameras have also been installed for the staff to view the call point, the caller and surrounding area.

UK-based Securicor ADI reports expansion of its airport security business with new contracts at Manchester, London Stansted and Norwich. A three- year contract from Manchester includes hold baggage screening activities across al three terminals, while Stansted Airport Airline Operating Committee selected Securicor ADI for baggage screening services and care of wheelchair passengers. Norwich has outsourced its total security functions under a seven-year deal.
