Greener ways to bring in the money

Article Abstract:

The British Treasury and the environmental group Greenpeace are hoping to find common ground to advance both of their interests. Special taxes on automobile usage and parking along with a new gas tax will increase Treasury revenue and improve the environment at the same time.

Article Abstract:

German packaging producers, required by law to collect and recycle packaging waste, actually dump much of it abroad. Britain is complaining about the cheap German trash that undercuts British packaging waste which the government wants British companies to recycle.

Article Abstract:

Britain is discussing encouraging recycling by imposing higher fees on waste dumped in landfills. However, such policies may not eliminate any waste but will encourage illegal dumping. Policies in other European nations are discussed.
