Investors are watching for signs that Credit Suisse Group will be tightening its grip on operations at its U.S. investment banking subsidiary Credit Suisse First Boston L.L.C. Oswald Gruebel, chief executive officer of the Swiss financial services giant, is also aiming to convince investors that the company is better off with him alone at the helm, following his dismissal of his co-chief executive John Mack.

The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in an internal investigation found that a managing director in its London, England office had informed an important client of an impending stock sale with Siemen's AG. The stock price fell and although this leak didn't appear to cause Siemen's AG's stock to fall, the managing director was fired. Information confidentiality is becoming a trend in tensions within investment banking business practice.
