Going for gold

Article Abstract:

The UK computer service sector is buoyant. The sector's annual growth rate is 21-22%, computer service company shares are performing outstandingly on the stock market, and employment in the sector has increased by 300,000 in the five years since 1993. Significant factors in the growth have been demand for help to tackle the Year 2000 date change problem and the introduction of the euro. However, industry experts maintain that a more long-lasting influence is the process of computer services becoming central, rather than peripheral, to a wide range of business functions.
