Tele Danmark, the Danish telecom, is interested in acquiring Tele Greenland, the Greenland telecom, according to Henning Vest, director of Tele Danmark's international operations. The book value of Tele Greenland was DKr 327mn (USD 44mn) in 1998. The market value is considered being much higher. Hjemmestyret, the regional government in Greenland, wishes to privatize the company.

Henning Vest, head of international activities of Tele Danmark, the Danish telecom, says the company will increase its stake in the Swiss company Sunrise in July. At present, Tele Danmark owns 40% of the company. Henning Vest doesn't reveal any details about the plan. Sunrise has more than 250,000 clients, and expects to reach 400,000 by the end of 1999.

Tele Danmark, the Danish telecom, is interested in increasing its stake in Belgacom, the Belgian telecom. The Belgian Government will probably sell off its 50% stake in the company. By now, the consortium ADSB, which includes Tele Danmark, Singapore Telecom and financial investors, owns nearly 50% of Belgacom. Tele Danmark owns 16.5% of ADSB.
