Article Abstract:

France's national telecommunications regulator ART said the charges rival phone operators pay France Telecom SA to use its network will fall by an average 11.2% next year. Art said the reduction in the interconnection rates would translate into a 19.3% cut in the tariff charged for access to the Internet on France Telecom's network. A lower tariff for calls made at night would cut the effective cost of Internet access at night by about 30%.
