France Telecom seeks to offer free Internet

Article Abstract:

France Telecom SA is seeking permission from regulators in France to offer free Internet service. The company is actually asking approval for a new tariff plan that would essentially allow it to offer the Internet service. One of France Telecom's new rates would provide Internet service to customers free of a subscription fee. Customers would instead be charged 28 centimes (four European cents) per minute, including tax, whenever they accessed the service.

Vizzavi plans to offer users dial-up access to Internet
