Architect, Richard Rogers has designed that extensions to Marseilles airport, France. The first phase of the building, a departure lounge, has been completed. The structure has a concrete slab floor with steel columns and roof beams. The walls are fully glazed and the whole area has a relaxing atmosphere. Miliken carpet squares have been used throughout as floor covering. Du Pont Antron Excel 6.6 nylon fibre, fusion bonded to glass reinforced PVC backing has been used to give good wear resistance and staff have been trained in cleaning and maintenance procedures.

Studio BAAD has designed a distribution centre and office building using a curved facade. The building is sited in the run-down Cheetham Hill district of Manchester, England and has been designed to repell intruders and vandals. The curved office and showroom space is clad with pre-curved profiled metallic silver PVF2 coated galvanised steel. The portal framed distribution centre at the rear is clad in TAC galvanised steel. The building has few windows but natural light is admitted through roof lights. It was built within a tight budget.

Article Abstract:
The Archaeolink visitor centre in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, was carefully designed by Edward Cullinan Architects to blend in with the surrounding hilly and forested landscape. The facility introduces visitors to an area which has a very rich archaeological history, including seven iron-age forts. It aims to integrate exhibition areas with an experience of the surrounding landscape and its archaeology. Expressed reinforced-concrete construction was used throughout, while the main external materials are grass and glass.
