Reebok has shown its commitment for workers' human rights by supporting efforts to work for the release of Dita Indah Sari. Sari, a prominent labor organizer of Indonesia, was arrested in Jul 1996 after a confrontation between laborers and the army. Reebok, with its commitment to workers' rights, including the right to organize, has recognized that adhering to human-rights issues in the workplace improved worker morale and fostered a positive image among stakeholders, shareholders and consumers.

Lucent Technologies Inc. and Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd. plan to jointly invest $700 million over five years to develop new techniques to manufacture future generations of communications chips. The firms announced that the partnership intends to develop and make chips that contain up to six times as many transistors as chips currently being produced.
